Golden Gate Cetacean Research biologists, Jon Stern, Bill Keener and Izzy Szczepaniak, will present the results of their newest research on the porpoises and dolphins of San Francisco Bay, providing an up-to-date since their last talk for ACS in 2012. In all the world's oceans there are only seven species of porpoise that exist. Though these little marine mammals are found in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres, and their distributions are mostly separate from one another – these highly intelligent marine animals face significant conservation challenges. The day will include keynote speakers, two workshops sessions, a zero-waste lunch, a NGO Fair and Networking & School Planning sessions.
