The vaquita is a critically endangered species of porpoise that can only be found in the Sea of Cortez in Mexico. Less than 30 individuals remain, which makes the vaquita the most endangered marine mammal on the planet. This fall, an international team of scientists and marine mammal experts will attempt to capture the last remaining vaquita to move them to a safe habitat. It is a last-ditch effort to save the species from extinction.
